Yes, you can.
The 2432-22xc comes with the XC High Capacity M12 LITHIUM-ION batteries which are the quicker charge/longer lasting batteries than the standard ones in the other kit.
Just from the photos.....the xc is the same tool but has the bigger batteries. Also, no case shown with this tool. Ask seller about case...it's good to have one.
Yes buy plastic they are just as good I only buy brass when it's not available in plastic
Yes
This tool can only be used with PEX-A. It is important to make sure that only PEX-A is used, as lower grades are not meant for expander heads and fittings. This tool is meant to be used with ProPEX (Uponor/Wirsbo) fittings only. Sharkbite fittings do not require any tool and work on all types of PEX, as well as some other materials.
only with Wirsbo pex pipe. Sent from Windows Mail
This tool is for PROPEX fittings only. Understand the PROPEX fitting line before purchasing Sent from my iPhone
No. Only for expansion ring fittings
I would not use it on a brand of PEX that is not designed for expansion fittings. I used it on Upanor brand only.
You can use the expansion tool for only type A pex. Only ProPEX fittings and rings will work with the expansion tool !!! Type A pex whether for heating or waterlines is the only type that I buy!!!
You can only use this tool on wirsbo or upon or pex. Every brand of pex has it's own "approved" method for connections. Wirsbo or uponor are expansion type fitting, and most other are crimp ring. My advice, contact the pex company you are going to use. Get certified with there product. Sent from my iPhone
Only works with the Propex/Upinor/Wirsbo type of connections. It's an expander that temporarily stretches the compression ring and the pipe so you can insert the next fitting. Very slick, fast and idiot-proof. Sent from Jim Fischer's smart phone.
In short--this tool is designed to work on Uponor/Wirsbo plumbing fittings and type "A" PEX tubing. To my knowledge Uponor is the only plumbing system that expands the ends of the PEX tubing (with a ProPEX ring at the end of the tubing) to accommodate one of their fittings. Once the end of PEX tubing/ProPEX ring is expanded the fitting is inserted and the PEX tubing/ProPEX ring shrink to form a seal around the fitting. Uponor recommends that type "A" PEX be used because they say it is engineered to have a better "memory" (e.g., when the PEX tubing is expanded it will try to return to it's original size--which is how the PEX tubing/ProPEX ring establishes a seal around the fittings) than the other two types of PEX (i.e., PEX "B" and "C"). I have talked to plumbers that have used Uponor's fittings with PEX "B" and "C" tubing but from my understanding if you use anything other than PEX "A" tubing it will void Uponor's warranty. As far as Shark Bit fittings--they just slid over the end of the tubing and SS teeth keep the tubing from coming back out--but, they are very expensive and not intended to plumb an entire house (just repairs or adding short sections of pipe). The Milwaukee expansion tool is very nice to have because it not only expands the PEX tubing in incremental steps it also rotates the expansion head during each expansion stage to eliminate having a longitudinal grove in the tubing from the expansion head (which would prevent a good seal when the PEX tubing shrunk around the fitting). There is a hand expander made but from watching a youtube video on it's operation it looks like it take quite a bit of time to do one expansion. Check out youtube for various PEX pluming systems. Apart from Uponor's plumbing system other PEX plumbing options use SS rings that are crimped around the fittings with a special crimping tool designed just for each PEX plumbing system. After a lot of research I choose Uponor's system because I think it the best and easiest to use (that is if you can afford the expansion tool). Bottom line--this tool can only be used with "PEX" tubing. Hope this is helpful--john
You have to buy the additional 3/8" expander head.
No, you have to buy the additional 3/8" expansion head separately. I will say that this tool is fantastic and works perfectly. Cheers.
The Milwaukee expander tool works great, makes installing pex tubing and fittings very easy.Heads included are 1/2,3/4 and 1" but you could use the 1/2 head for 3/8
We do not carry any crimp x ProPEX fittings, but you could use a crimp x threaded fitting along with a ProPEX x opposite threaded fitting in order to make a crimp x ProPEX connection.
Try using a pex crimp with male pipe by female Pipe x pro press. TG Sent from my iPhone
I know this is an old question but I want to answer. Just use a crimp straight coupling and crimp the old pex and the Pex A onto it. Pex A crimps just as well as any other pex. I used the Pex crimp system for years (before eventually switching to expansion) but always used Pex A tubing just because it's easier to work with and it always worked great with crimp fittings and rings or ss clamps. There's no reason not to crimp Pex A if you need to.
This tool will work with any PEX-A rated tubing.
Yes, this tool will do the job. Just remember to use heat PEX for your hot water from the boiler and AquaPex for potable water and domestic hot water. You can get the blue or red Aquqpex but it does come uncolored as well so make sure you are using the right product in the proper application.
This tool will work; it is quicker than the hand manual tool.
more than enough - see my review
I used the M12 Expander to install pex in-between webbed floor trusses 16" 0.c. which only leaves roughly 12" between trusses. It would have been extremely hard to use the hand tool in that space. The M12 made installation a breeze. As for power 3/4" is the largest I have expanded and the M12 did a fine job.
I just completed a yard valve and sprinkler tee replacement, all in 1" PEX and the tool flew through it without flinching. It felt more like assembling 1/2 PVC glue fittings with this tool!
yes it has the power to do the job and i like it a little more cecause it has the auto rotation i have the hand expander as well but i love the m12 pro pex tool
yES IT IS,,WORKS ALOT FASTER
The heads will work as long as Uponor/Wirsbo made them.
