Q: can 1" sharkbite fittings be used with K copper tubing?? I would like to join undergroud and convert to 1" pex due to the cost.

SharkBite fittings can be used with any kind of copper tubing. Different types of copper have different thickness and inside diameters, but their outside diameters will always be the same.

3/8" Type K copper tubing has a 0.5" outside diameter, a 0.402" inside diameter, and a wall thickness of 0.049".

Q: we are 5 homeowners who are replaceing our old 3/4 gal. lines frome the street to our basement. 60 ft coils leave us too short to do other home. can this be connected with a flare fitting or how do we not waste the 18 ft left over. is the 100ft. coil better

Soft copper can be joined with flare connections, in addition to compression, soldering, brazing, or welding.
