Well refined, pulls down to at least 40 Microns
So, I picked up a couple gallons of the Cal-Vac oil for some oil changes on belt drive vacuum pumps. Good results, good performance, good value of product quality relative to the price point.
I've been rehabbing s couple of vacuum pumps for my neon glass plant; both belt drive, a Cenco Megavac (1/2hp, 57LPM), and a Precision Scientific Inc. model 150 (3/4hp, 150LPM), both of which spec out to a final vacuum of 1/10th of a micron (1x10^-4 torr). Warm them up, drain them, flush them, fill them and let them run overnight hooked up to the sealed system and gauge.
This Nu Calgon Cal-Vac oil is the second batch of oil I've run through them recently, seeing if there was a measurable difference in final vacuum vs. pricing of one oil or the other.
My results on the Megavac pump were as follows;
ProTech oil; 66 microns. Cal-Vac oil, 41 microns.
My pump is worn, I believe.

It is oil, it does what vacuum oil should do.
It does its job. Don't see any problems with it. Industry standard you have to change it every time it works.
