Description
Note: In line with the new Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) standards mandated by South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD) Rule 1168, Oatey Co. has updated its CPVC solvent cements. Oatey Co. will begin production of the next generation CPVC solvent cements on May 1, 2024. All cans manufactured from May 1, 2024, onwards will contain the new ultra-low VOC formulas.
This is a rolling change, and all product numbers will remain the same. To assist in identifying updated products, the artwork on the cans has been refreshed to include a new VOC emblem on the top left corner. These new formulas uphold the same rigorous performance standards as their predecessors, ensuring the strongest solvent welds in the industry. Despite the reduction in VOC levels, the viscosity of Oatey’s CPVC cements remains within existing ranges and the formulas continue to meet the performance standards set by ASTM F493.
Please note that, while the last manufacturing date for the existing product line will be April 30, 2024, the sale of cans date-coded before this transition date is permissible until July 1, 2027.
Oatey FlowGuard Gold Medium Yellow All Weather One-Step Solvent Cement is recommended for solvent welding CPVC pipe and fittings up to 2" Copper Tube Size diameter. CPVC FlowGuard Gold All Weather One-Step Solvent Cement can be used for CPVC plastic hot and cold water distribution systems. This product is compliant with California South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD) Rule 1168 and Ozone Transport Commission (OTC) regulations for Volatile Organic Compound emission levels. Note: This product is not for use in a system using or being tested by compressed air or gases.
- For copper tube size (CTS) CPVC hot and cold potable water pipe and fittings up to 2" diameter interference fit.
- Lo-V.O.C. Solvent Cement meets California South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD) 1168/316A or BAAQMD Method 40 and various environmental requirements.
- For cold water systems and hot water systems up to 200°F / 93°C.
- May be used without primer where local coders permit.
- Recommended application temperature 0°F to 110°F / -17°C to 43°C.
- Meets ASTM F493.
