8 Oz. CPVC Heavy Duty Orange Lava Cement

In line with the new Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) standards mandated by South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD) Rule 1168, Oatey Co. has updated its CPVC solvent cements. Oatey Co. will begin production of the next generation CPVC solvent cements on May 1, 2024. All cans manufactured from May 1, 2024, onwards will contain the new ultra-low VOC formulas. 

This is a rolling change, and all product numbers will remain the same. To assist in identifying updated products, the artwork on the cans has been refreshed to include a new VOC emblem on the top left corner.  These new formulas uphold the same rigorous performance standards as their predecessors, ensuring the strongest solvent welds in the industry. Despite the reduction in VOC levels, the viscosity of Oatey’s CPVC cements remains within existing ranges and the formulas continue to meet the performance standards set by ASTM F493. 

Please note that, while the last manufacturing date for the existing product line will be April 30, 2024, the sale of cans date-coded before this transition date is permissible until July 1, 2027.

Oatey Orange Lava CPVC Cut-In Cement is a single-step, fast-curing cement is recommended for pressure, potable water cut-in, repair applications. Designed for cut-in applications where downtime is limited, it sets the fastest, eliminating the need for bracing. Because it quickly melts pipe surface to weld the joint, primer is not required. It also applies easily with included in-lid dauber. This orange, low VOC, medium bodied, fast setting cement can be used to solvent weld CPVC pipe and fittings up to 6 in. diameter with interference fit.
