Description

Applications: Pipes for non-potable hot and cold water systems, including:
  • Radiant floor heating systems
  • Radiator connections
  • Baseboard hot water connections
  • Heating/cooling applications
  • Snow melt applications
PERT pipes have been used in European markets for more than 20 years with exceptional results. Oil Creek Plastics HeatFlex pipe is made with DOWLEX 2344 Polyethylene Copolymer Resin, which offers the traditional benefits of polyethylene resin along with excellent high temperature resistance. The result is the next generation of radiant heating pipe.

Unlike PEX and PVC pipe, HeatFlex can be recycled, making it the most Earth-friendly of all radiant heat choices. All production rejects and conversion waste at Oil Creek Plastics is recycled rather than disposed of in landfills.

easy to work with

I like working with this for radiant floor heat as it is more flexible than PEX. The one drawback is it will kink easier, so you have to be careful when feeding it.

Easy to work/form/install

I used the 3/4" PERT from Oil Creek Plastics to supply/install a cast iron radiator in my basement. Due to the layout of my basement and the fact that it has a partial crawl space, I decided it would be simpler to supply my radiator with PERT instead of rigid pipe. The PERT was very easy to straighten as I unwound it from the inside of the coil. It also confirm to the layout configurations. I used the standard PEX fittings and crimp rings for my connections. It worked great and I am really happy with the installation.

Installs like PEX but more flexible

We have used PE-RT on several radiant jobs and really appreciate its flexibility. This gets more important as you get to larger diameters, but is notable even at 1/2". We use the same crimp ring connectors as with PEX but cannot attest to its use with other connection systems such as Pro-PEX expanders.
