PRIER C-144 provides a year round source of water in areas that are subject to freezing temperatures. The hydrant valve is connected to the supply piping in the heated portion of the structure, eliminating the possibility of freezing. Ordering the C-244 gives you the same style hydrant but with a vandal proof extended lockshield and operating key. The PRIER C-144 has all the characteristics of the historically proven C-134 with the added protection of an anti-siphon vacuum breaker and backflow check valve.

Got this installed in less than an hour on our North porch. Excellent quality, made in the U.S.A and will last a lifetime. I would recommend!

I would not buy again
I bought the Prier C-144 about a year ago to replace another, cheaper frost-free faucet that was leaking after only about 2-3 years of use. The Prier seemed like a obvious choice due to its capability to be rebuilt via the Overhaul kit. Despite having rebuilt it now twice, this 14" frost-free faucet continues to leak. Last year I replaced the graphite packing. This year I rebuilt the entire stem, including the graphite packing again, and it continues to leak, albeit only slightly now from the valve when the water is on. I am very disappointed with the outcome. Note that while I am a DIYer, I have installed many faucets in my lifetime. I have other, less expensive faucets that do not leak at all when in use. Sorry to say I would not buy again. I really wanted the Prier to work out!!

Leaked from stem on day 1.
This faucet leaked from the stem on day 1. I bought the repair kit but haven't installed it yet. Based on other reviews I have very low expectations.

total crap
I ordered 4 of these, all of them leaked from the packing seal after tithing the packing nut the leak stop but after couple days the leak continue in all of them

Will no longer purchase these silcocks
I originally like these for their design and what I thought was good quality.
I have installed several of these silcocks and have had problems with the packing seal immediately. One location I had installed 2 and both the would leak at the handles when used. I tried tightening the packing. They still leaked. I bought packing repair kits. Completely replaced the packings in both. Still leaked. Eventually on my 4th trip back to the customer I opted to replace the silcocks (at my expense) to the blue fin brand.
Costly experience for me. Won't buy them again!

Having issues with these leaking
I am have had issues with these leaking at the packing. Recently installed 2 that were leaking right out of the box. Have two leaking at a customers house now that won't stop leaking around the handle. I am going to try to repair with rebuild kit. If it doesn't work I am going to have to replace them at my expense.
