Excellent thermometer.
Solders easily into any 1/2" sweat fitting. Thermometer is removable from the well so you can solder without messing it up. Pop it in, tighten the set screw and you're done. I set this up on the output of a thermostatic mixing valve that feeds a radiant floor loop. Now I can dial in the temp down to the degree with no problems. Cheaper than buying one of the fancy mixing valves with the gauge built in, plus this gauge is twice the size making it easy to read.. as long as you have adequate room.

Good Solution
In our boiler loop project we were looking for thermometers that we could integrate (sweat) right in the piping. These were a great solution although we did notice they do take up about 1/4" in 1" pipe. But we have found them to be the answer we were looking for.

Not bad but I've seen better
This thermometer sits loosely in sweat well and needs to be held in place by a screw. Better one's I've seen have snug friction fit w. zero tolerance.

My old caliper measures an OD of 3/8" on the stem of the Dial Thermometer that fits inside the thermowell. I might assume the ID of the Thermowell would be slightly large by a thou or two. Best regards ... Wes Kobelka
