aquastats used with the add-ons
NOTE:THESE 3 PRODUCTS CAN BE PURCHASED IN A KIT ALL AT ONCE!!!YOU WILL SAVE $$$... the electronic aquastat is a nice item and is fully adjustable for every situation!!! but may need to be set 10-degrees higher than your old aquastat to maintain the same heat range...the outdoor reset kit works great!!!but you will not have any hot water for the shower if you do not use the DOMESTIC HOT WATER KIT!!! YOUR HEATER WILL BE OPERATING AT A LOWER TEMP-RANGE WHEN THE OUTDOOR KIT IS ACTIVE!!! SO YOU WILL NEED THE HEATER TO RETURN TO THE FULL-TEMP RANGE WHEN YOU START RUNNING THE SHOWER!!! THAT IS WHAT THE DOMESTIC HOT WATER KIT IS NEEDED FOR!!! WARNING- DO NOT SET THE RESET-OUTDOOR TEMP LOWER THAN 45-DEGREES...IT WILL TAKE TO-LONG FOR YOUR HEATER TO RECOVER FROM A LOWER BOILER TEMPERATURE!!! THESE NEW HEATER CONTROLS ARE GREAT BUT REQUIRE SOME READING TO UNDERSTAND EXACTLY HOW THEY WILL WORK!!!

Good Price Works Well
I purchased this module for the "Warm Weather Shutdown" feature. I did not want the boiler to be heating the water when the thermostat did not call for heat. This device solved that problem. Keep in mind it can only be used with an electronic Aquastat, such as the one at the link below.

Great device which works with my L7248 control to adjust boiler water temperature based on outside air temperature. Lower water temperature means $ savings

look at the terminal strip on the aquastat for the terminals marked 123 for enviracom connections. if they are present, you are good to go.

According to the installation instruction it will work with L7224/48. I have a L7224U, my suggestion is look for an installation manual online for the L7248and see if it lists the rest in the accessories list.

Q: I have an older boiler which when left on in warm weather will continue to heat the water in the boiler even when there is no call for heat from the thermostat. I have installed the L7224U1002 Electronic Aquastat. If I install this module will it enable me to have the burner stay off in warm weather?

Yes, that is one of the functions of the outdoor reset device. However, it must be installed with the correct aqua-stat. It works very well to save money. -Scott

Yes, you can. Just install the outdoor temp reset module and read through the programming on page 5 to set the warm weather shutdown to the outdoor temp you would like it to shutdown. Or, if your boiler can do a cold start mode, then set the low limit to OFF.
