Great Price & Quality
I just bought a new 6 year warranty water heater and before installing it I checked the size/length of the anode. The factory installed anode was .70 in diameter x 30" length. I removed the factory installed anode and replaced it with this one which is .90 in. diameter and is still 41" long after cutting. Over 2.25 times the material of the factory installed anode so it should last much longer. It's a win, win situation, I got a better quality anode for my new water heater, my mom's water heater is a shorter unit and the 30" rod I removed from my new unit should be about perfect to fit her water heater with little or no cutting. I ordered the anode on Monday night, it was at my home in KY Thursday morning. Very good customer service and fast shipping from www.supplyhouse.com

Not the correct product
This will work, but it's not the Rheem product pictured. Rheem has added a resistor under the cap to slow the rate of erosion of the rod. This rod is made by Protech, not Rheem, and doesn't have the resistor. It will work, and the price isn't bad, but you're not getting the product that's pictured, or the advantage of the longer lasting rod. Keep looking and you'll find the genuine Rheem rod for about the same price.
Like I said, it will work, but you're not getting what you paid for.

Not a R-Tech rod
This rod, made by Protech, does not have the resistor which will limit the current and increase the anode rod lifetime. It will work just fine, but only for ~half as long. Other than that, rod quality seems good and SupplyHouse service/delivery was great. Reviews have noted this for years -- SupplyHouse should update the listing to correct the info.

GREAT COMPANY TO WORK WITH
Third anode in a 14 year old 40g gas water heater (GE/Rheem).
Previous two were segmented for ease of install.
Water heater was making a banking noise so switched to a straight rod this time in hopes the segmented rod was causing the problem. Slightly better now, I think?
Pre-sales Supplyhouse confirmed which anode for the water heater model with a quick reply. Ordering was easy with great pricing and shipping was fast from their West Coast warehouse. Anode packed very well in a stiff cardboard cylinder.
Label was easy to remove using another customer's tip to put in a bucket of water first. Thanks Bro! Then used a dish scrubber sponge to clean up any residual adhesive. Easy peasy.
