We would recommend that you do use sand. It may not be completely necessary, but it's always a good idea.
Yes, it can.
yes..i am doing a whole house in pex line and useing the shark bite fittings..they work very good,,make sure your cuts are square and clean.
There is no PEX that resists UV rays.
Depending on your water demands, 1" PEX should work for this application.
This product has a 20-year warranty. PEX is believed to have a lifespan of about 100 years.
PEX works with wells and, to our knowledge, is legal in Alaska. PEX is freeze-resistant, but not freeze proof. While it will hold up better than copper in extreme cold, PEX could break if water freezes in the tubing. It will hold 160 psi at 73.4°F.
1/2" PEX has an inside diameter of 0.475" and an outside diameter of 0.625".
PEX is made out of polyethylene that is cross-linked to help the tubing maintain its shape. Nothing in PEX leaches into water.
This tubing will work, as long as it meets the temperature and pressure ratings of your hot tub.
It does not come in rolls that large; the tubing would be very difficult to work with.
