Yes, it can be used for water up to 200°F.
You can only use this tubing for radiant floor heating if you have an open system. Otherwise, we recommend that you use tubing with an oxygen barrier.
We would recommend that you use the K-Flex Thermacel Insulation found here: http://www.pexsupply.com/Nomaco-K-Flex-58C-6-Thermacel-Insulation-for-1-2-Pipe-5-8-x-1-2-5650000-p
It is better to use PEX without the oxygen barrier for plumbing. The PEX we carry that has an oxygen barrier is not NSF approved for plumbing applications.
You can use propylene glycol (available here: http://www.pexsupply.com/Utility-18-452-No-Freez-Non-Toxic-Anti-Freeze-5-Gallon ) in the tubing.
Inside diameter is 0.671" and outside diameter is 0.875".
The color itself is the the only difference. Having these options can make installation of hot and cold lines, for example, easier.
The use of heat tape is allowed with PEX products provided the product has automatic thermostatic control capability and the temperature does not exceed the maximum rating listed on the tubing. Heat tape should be wrapped around the tubing and secured with zip or cable ties, not tape; then insulated with closed cell pipe insulation.
