Good Product and Easy to work with.

Pricing is higher that some on the internet...may want to work on pricing. Good product and SupplyHouse.com is an awesome company to deal with!!

Most Liked Negative Review

No

The Bluefin PEX is very stiff and will not relax from being coiled. That becomes an issue between un-support horizontal spans where you want to maintain a slope to be able to drain the line completely. It might be acceptable in other applications, but not for this one. I am sending it back. The PEX-A Uponor (Wirsbo) is far easier to work with and that is what we will be using from this point on.

Great Product

I use this while doing repairs on RVs. Only thing I don't like is that it does not like to straighten out when cold. Leave it in the sun for a bit and it is much easier to work with.

This size is a terrible, terrible product

The 1" pex b is incredibly stiff and not appropriately thermoplastic. It retains the memory of the coil even after being straightened and eventually curls again. Even after applying heat with a heat gun. Very disappointed.

Q: We live in upstate ny and we are just getting city water. We were told we needed 3/4 type k copper tubing. My brother is a plumber in TX and suggested PEX. Do you know if it meets code and will it hold up to the weather. I seen the question from Alaska so I believe it will. Thanks, Michele P. Upstate NY

Non-oxygen barrier PEX is approved for use with potable water in most localities, but we recommend that you check with your municipal codes to be sure.

We recommend that you use PEX with an oxygen barrier. Non-barrier PEX can allow rusting of various parts in the system.

Q: For typical hydronic baseboard heating, should pex with oxygen barrier be used? And if so why is it better suited.

PEX with an oxygen barrier should always be used in closed-loop heating systems. The barrier prevents oxygen from penetrating the tubing and causing ferrous system components to rust.

A tube uncoiler, multiple people helping, and warmth will all make it easier to uncoil the PEX.

We would not recommend it: PEX is neither tested nor rated for compressed air.

As long as you do not exceed the temperature/pressure ratings on the tubing, there will be no issues.

You can use PEX, but we would recommend PEX with an oxygen barrier for heating applications.

Q: Does pex tubing hot and cold inside walls supplying the fixtures have to be insulated for sweating.

It is always a good idea to insulate the tubing to prevent sweating. This will also prevent heat loss in the hot water lines.
