1820 Series PG9A41 Replacement Pilot Uni-Kit

This unit surprised me with a huge flame, initially. After I turned down the pilot adjustment at the control valve, I was quite satisfied. The many decades old pilot burner had been sputtering even after a cleaning, and it always annoyed me a right hand pilot had been improvised, instead of correct LH pilot burner. The industry standardized on 'universal' mounting holes over a half century ago, which allows wrong handedness to mount with a change of screws and/or angle mounting bracket. As long as I was replacing as an entire unit, rather than just the thermopile/generator, there was no reason not to install correct LH unit. It also slightly simplifies supply tubing and electrical routing when they don't have to cross. Except for adjusting the flame way down, this universal pilot unit was plug and play. The metal work is every bit as good as the ancient pilot I removed. In my case, I wanted a RobertShaw to match the control valve. No discount off brands for me, and no more weak pilot blowing out in a windstorm.

Worked fine after I cut off the old male fitting and put on your female fitting

It would have been nice if could bought a unit that would have come with a made up gas tubing at the pilot light end, just suggestion.

Was unsure about left or right application so I purchased both types. Can use the pilot generator included with either kit as a spare and throw away rest of assembly and that is cheaper than just buying pilot generator alone.
