Good thermostat for a good price.
The unit works well. I like the blue "indigo" display. There is a slight high pitch buzz when the display light is on with my unit, but only lasts until the light goes off. Not terrible but wanted to mention it. I don't like the "recovery" option and will disable it with the jumper on the back of the unit. I don't really need it to turn on before I want it to turn on. It is supposed to intuit the temp and start the cycle earlier to reach temp by the set time. Might be useful for some but not me. Overall I am pleased with it. I like the look of it too.

I have 14 thermostats in my home , every 6 months I have to change batteries. Plus the clock on this thermostats always late. Don't buy it.

Better than Honeywell Products
I picked this product because you could adjust the degree change required for the thermostat to react. That is, if you set it for 70, you could program up to a 3-degree window before it would turn the furnace back on, ie the temp would need to go to say 67 degrees before cycling the furnace whereas the Honeywell unit was preset to a 1-degree change and if it went from 70 to 69, the furnace would cycle again and it was constantly on /off,on/off within a few minutes

Excellent thermostat for the price
This easily could be the best programmable unit for under $30. Installation was a breeze and set-up was also easy. I like the fact that I can adjust the cycle range in degrees. I set mine at the 1 degree mark and it holds my room temp very well with my hot water baseboard system. If your system cycles too often it can go as high as 3 degrees differential. I may just buy a second one for my upstairs zone. Beats the junk models the big box stores sell by a long-shot at this price point.

Easy to install. An adjustable Temperature span setting you can't find on other brands and easy to use. For the price it is way better than any other models that are twice the price or more.

Good, inexpensive basic thermostat
I am using the thermostat to control a vented propane wall heater in a basement office in my home. The unit was straight forward and simple to install. It works with the millivolt valve on the heater, so I will have heat when the power fails. The unit is sensitive and accurate and maintains temperatures within a degree of the set point. Thus far, I can see no drawbacks to the unit for my application.

Q: I want to replace old typical manual round low volthoneywell thermostat. I purchased digital Robert Shaw RS3110 programable5-2 day thermostat which has terminals C R O B G Y W1 but old thermostat has 5 wire G Rc Rh Y/O W/B Y terminals. What should I do now? How do I install this?

Most thermostats have a detailed manual which is available on line. There are also numerous web resources for finding this kind of information. I suspect your old thermostat was heat only while the new one is heat cool so Rh is the R for heat, Rc is the red for cool. In this case, you can get the manual from Robert Shaw at http://www.robertshawtstats.com/images/docs/352-00021-003%20EN-SP.pdf This can be found by googling the Robert Shaw RS3110 and following the link to manuals and documents on the catalog page.

First shut off power to furnace. I just looked at the manual for the new stat on the pex supply website. The wire connections are not labeled as you described. I suspect your email has old and new mixed up. If I am correct then you have a heat pump. Follow their drawing. You must also set system selector to hp Based on the old thermostat wire connections you do not have 2 stage. G to G Rc and Rh must have a jumper R to either Rc or Rh O to Y/O Y to Y1 The C wire is not used. New stat is battery power only. B to W/B Since you have no wires for electric heat backup I'm guessing you are in the south. That doesn't work here. http://s3.pexsupply.com/manuals/***.****39/46136_PROD_FILE.pdf

Verified Reply- PexSupply StaffThe thermostat is designed to remind you to change your filter every 400 hours. To reset this timer, you will need to hold down FILTER for 3 seconds.
