- Mechanical Heat Backup This thermostat includes a bimetal switch that will automatically turn on the Heat when the temperature reaches about 41ºF (5ºC). WARNING: This switch only activates the heating terminal (W). The system itself must be capable of automatically turning the fan on. Without normal fan operation, severe damage to the heating system could result.
- Adjustable differential - thermostat is set at the factory to cycle at 2ºF (1ºC) above and below the set temperature (DIFF = 2). This setting has been designed to provide a comfortable room temperature under most conditions. However, if you find your system cycling too fast or too slow, then the DIFF can be adjusted to modify the cycle time.

Robertshaw 3210 Thermostat
The instalation is to new to really give a good assesment. the stat. appears to be having difficulty finding the ambient temp. in the house. We have an older Robertshaw with a very accurate thermometer, and the diference is several degrees. If the problem continues I could not recommend this product.

Its OK
My biggest complaint with this thermostat is that the temperature display is off by at least 3 degrees. When two other indoor thermometers show 70 degrees this one shoes 73 or 74. Also when the thermostat calls for heat and closes its internal relay it seems to have an affect on its ability to sense the temperature of the air properly. For example, if the themostat is set at 73 degrees with a 1 degree differential the thermostat kicks on at 72. As soon as the internal relay kicks on the temperature display sometimes goes down one degree to 71. It works OK but I always have the differntial set at 1 because it actually seems more like 2 or 3 degrees with it changing the temperature around.

Trouble
The only trouble I have with it is that the Temperature its show in the house is 3 degrees to high. When it shows 75 degrees its really 72 degrees. I can't find any way to adjust it down to where it should be.
