It is an elbow and it works well.
Needed an elbow to get me out of a jam with my water heater and for some reason, this configuration was hard to find outside of high-priced plumbing suppliers. Glad I found this site.

I would use this product again.
Used in a tight space where a person shot a hole in his water line. Good shot, he hit it right in the middle, though I don't think that was what he was aiming for.

Yes l would purchase Sharkbite fittings again.
The Tankless water heater project went so well and effortless with the Sharkbait fittings. I did a lot of air pressure work before l retired and put a lot of brass and galvanized pipes together. These Sharkbite fittings were a lot easier to put together and faster than wrenching pipe fittings like l used to do. And the BIG SURPRISE WAS, THERE WERE NO LEAKS. Price compared to using brass fittings about even, just easier to work with.

Nobody in a 50 mile radius had this part. I went to 4 local plumbing supply houses and they told me we don't carry that part, but we can make something up that would work.
