exactly what I needed
After neglecting my Stiebel Eltron water heater for too long, I decided to replace the heating element and sacrificial anode. Turns out that the sacrificial anode is now part of and attached to the heating element. No need to order a separate sacrificial anode. The new heating element didn't cost very much, went in with no problems, and didn't leak. While doing the replacement, I flushed out the insides of the water heater good, so it is now basically overhauled and like new. I'm very happy with the experience and plan to do it every two years.
