1" Cast Iron Vortech Air Separator

I've been using the Vortex Air Separator for a number of years for my radiant floor heating system. It does a great job keeping the system running smoothly!

First, fantastic shipping speed by SupplyHouse! Second, although this air separator is heavy, it installed with no leaks and works great.

I had received a damaged item due to poor handling methods by the postal carrier. I contacted Supply House and they immediately remedied the situation. The new Air Separator is great and will work well for its use on a pressurized wood boiler.

I have a 1940's vintage radiant system in the ceiling of the first floor. I have never been able to get out all the air no matter how many "tin can" style bleeders I added until I installed this unit. Not a single sound from the system and the circulator is quieter than it has ever been. Should have done this years ago.

Installed this unit with an expansion tank below. After purging all the zones, I fired up the system and could hear some air still left within the zones "whooshing" around the pipes/elements and while sitting there nex to the air seperator you could pin-point where the air was and hear it travel through each zone. Once the air got to the Taco Air Separator the hy-vent on top began to work, small "hiss" noises indicated that indeed it was removing the air from within the system. It took about 10min to fully remove all the air from two zones (1st floor and 2nd floor). Yes ALL the air was gone, no more noise, no more 'wooshing' or 'guggling' within the lines. The entire system was pretty noisy for years and after many, many purges I thought it was just as good as its gonna be. Not true, this Air Separator was the perfect solution! Great part, easy to install, easy to work with. Seems very strong/study and should last for years and years! Very happy with purchase from Supplyhouse, during the order I found the same part for a buck less and they price matched it, great service from Supplyhouse!

We bought our house 4 years ago and it is the first time we had hot water heat. Every fall, winter and spring, we would know every time the heat kicked in by the banging in the system. An HVAC person bled the air in the system and that helped a little bit. After researching the Supply House web-site, I decided to buy this unit. What a pleasant surprise... no more banging pipes. I used this air separator on a new install, I filled my boiler and started circulating water and I could hear it releasing a lot of air very quickly. Fells and looks like it is built very well.

I replaced my failed Bell $ Gossett air eliminator with this one and have been impressed with how well is functions. The B&G would leak water out of the vent and this one is dry as a bone. It quieted my hydronic heating system so much it is hard to tell it is working.

Great product!!! My boiler has been noisy for several years due to air in the system. The heating system was bled many times without success. I have even talked to plumbers who could not resolve this problem. After installing this product the sytem has been completely quiet. I highly recommend this product.
