Tekmar 279

Great price and super fast delivery. Huge thumbs up for SupplyHouse. I had to replace an old Heat Timer EPU box that became erratic.

Why haven't you installed this yet

This is ONE of the best things you can do to look like a pro. Save yourself or your customer significant amounts of money in fuel costs, and extend the life of the furnace and exhaust.
I love steam heat!

I would by it again

The installation is a breeze, the programming is very simple. It is much cheaper than other competitors.

Highly recommend

Highly recommend. Works better then heat timer. Make sure you use indoor sensors. I couldn't use the wired version, so I use the outdoor wireless one. Though there is a 10 minute delay before reaching the temp, that's better then not using one at all.

Tekmar 279

A Great Alternative To A Heat Timer Control At 2/3 The Price And A Warranty Twice As Long. Just Add A One Hour Sping Wound Timer For Temporary By-Pass Or Boost.

Great Steam Control

Always Prefer This Control To Heat Timer. One Thing It Does Lack Is a Bypass But That Problem Is Easily Solved By Installing A One Hour Spring Wound Timer In Parallel With The Burner Circuit So The Supers Can Boost The Heat If Needed For Up To One Hour With Out Forgetting To Switch A By Pass Switch Off Like With Other Units.

Steam Boiler temp Control

I have used Heat Timer in all my buildings in the past, but Tekmar is a much superior control and it will now be a standard on all my boilers. It is user friendly, easy to install and operate. Great Product!

Tekmar Steam Control

So far, I have installed the Tekmar 279 Steam Control in two buildings. I really like how you can get a feel for dialling in these old systems using the control. It's taken a little time to tweak it, but I expect to realize significant savings by it's use. Also, once it's set up well, no more fussing with the old thermostat, bumping it up and down and with poor response time. The fact that it learns the way the buildings each lose heat differently, and calculates best run times to compensate for it, amazes me. Installation was simple as well. The only way I could see improving it would be to: 1. add WiFi operation of it 2. cover the buttons that control the unit with glass allowing you to put a small lock on the cover. Overall, I love this product!

WBC_1

We bought a building (20 units) that had a very bad history with the steam heat. The building would either run extremely hot, or extremely cold. At least three steam "professionals" came to the prior owner's aid to remedy the situation. The final "professional" talked the owner into converting from oil to steam and placed a brand new system into the property. This new system performed as poorly as the one it replaced. Gas bills were outrageous, and the problem was not fixed. The owners ultimately decided to sell. (retirement not due to the steam, although it may have contributed). We picked up the building for a pretty good price and asked around to others running steam for advice. A friend of ours told us to look into the Tekmar controls as they allowed many variables to be tweaked. We did some homework, and decided it worth a shot for the price. Ultimately, after only about a week of tweaking, the tenants could not believe that the system was working so well. All windows were closed all the time, and we were complimented more times than I can count. At the end of the year we found that we saved just under 50% on our gas bill. The product has more than paid for itself and we are extremely happy.
