Can't Go Wrong

The 1/2" AquaPEX was just what the doctor ordered. Very tough and durable. Rigid enough to guide through trusses, but flexible enough to make all the turns. Very difficult to accidentally compromise. I am cautions to remain well clear of heat sources except if intentionally removing a connection. I have attached an image of a home distribution point using the PEX "A" AquaPEX. I used both the expansion tool and a crimp-er, depending on what I am connection to.

shipping wrap

This product is very good with one exception, The plastic wrap that is designed to use from the inside works great until the last two wraps, at this time it is cheaper to throw away the last two coils than to try to get it out of the plastic The time it takes to free the pipe from the wrap totally wipes out any savings from the product.

Product arrived quickly and worked well

Used this pex tubing to replace the original copper pipe that ran under a concrete garage slab to feed an outdoor spigot. The copper pipe developed a leak, so I routed the pex through the garage attic and down to the spigot.

Love you guys Great selection / great service Do wish you would find a way to use less plastic packaging. We try to be as green as possible whenever it's possible. Some day plastics like that will hopefully be banned. You could get ahead of the curve!

PEX-A Pipe

Since my house was built with Uponor PEX-A pipe, when I had to add some additional piping to my house I chose to use this pipe. This does require the use of an Expansion Tool to get the full benefit PEX-A provides. However, this will also take PEX-B fittings and valves if you use ASTM 1807 crimp rings. This gives you the chance to easily expand your plumbing system.

Pex A is easy to work with.

We used this to replace galvanized water service lines to our 1950's bathroom. It was easy to work with.

Q: I have some regular Pex B grade pipe that I bought from Lowes. Would it be better to buy the Pex A aquapex pipe in all the future plumbing replacements, and can I use the standard copper crimp rings and brass fittings that I have been using?

PEX-A is the highest grade given to PEX tubing. PEX-A is easier to work with and is compatible with ProPEX expansion-style fittings. It is also compatible with standard PEX fittings, including crimp.

PEX tubing is approved for plumbing in all 50 states and most municipalities, but you should always check with your city's codes to be sure.

Yes, PEX can be used underground. You should either bury the PEX below the frost line or drain the lines during the winter to prevent freezing in the lines.

We would recommend 1" tubing. As for the pump, that would need to be sized by your installer.

Q: I have to add a 2" water line to supply a new Fire Sprinkler system. The entire line will be buried at 4+ feet and come up thru a concrete slab. I will need to put a curb valve in at the tee and a stop valve at the interior destination. The new line will tee off a 2" K tubing. Which Pex product should I use and which fittings are needed to make the transition from the copper?

You can use a WIPEX fitting (part 5550020) to get from the 2" PEX to male threads. You can use a copper x FNPT fitting from there.

You can use PEX to replace galvanized plumbing piping. You will generally want to use piping that is the same size.

i would use pex its neater no worries about corrosion however i would probably switch to a 3/4 inch pipe, the diameter is greater which means greater flow and more pressure.

We would recommend that you use 1" PEX. You should be able to use a threaded SharkBite fitting to adapt to the meter.
