you do not need to support the bend supports, but it is better if you can. put a short piece of foam pipe insulation around the pex where it comes through any framing without a support.
In my opinion/experience, you can use the support to achieve bends without securing the the support to framing as long as you support the tubing nearby to reduce knocking Please consider the environment before printing this email
While supporting bends would be necessary, say, where they feed out the wall under a lavatory, in the example you give they should be fine unless you expect water hammer issues to cause the pipes to move. It's always a great idea to secure bends, but sometimes it makes little effective difference. Sent from my iPad
no need to secure the 90 Sent from my iPhone
I have never used them, but I don't think that they would need to be attached. One thing i would recommend is to wrap each end with gray tape to keep them from moving. Hope this helps. Garland Sonsel
It will fit in a standard 2x4 wall. Raymond
yes it will fit in a standard 2x4 stud wall, but it is tight.
Yes, no problem at all.
These fit fine inside a 2x4 wall. Be sure to put shields on studs to prevent nail or screw punctures.
I recently installed these into a standard 2x4 wall for stubbing out faucet and toilet water supply. They will fit for that purpose. I snapped these into a nail-on bracket designed to secure them. the portion that snaps into the nail-on bracket will stick out slightly from the roughed-in wall, but that part is completely covered when sheetrock is installed on your wall. this will leave only Pex sticking out.
If you are coming up thru the center of your bottom plate and going right or left then yes it fits. If you are trying to ninety out front or back then no. The bend is 6" as recommended by the tubing manufacturers. If you want to come out the wall then use a pex elbow or a copper stub out which is what we prefer to use. Rick
I've used them in 2x4 walls for toilet rough ins and they work great. ryan_jpeg
Unfortunately not in a standard 2x4 studded wall. Works nice in a 2x6 wall though. take care, Bob Bob Elam Photography Boonton, NJ 07005 http://www.bobelamphoto.com
Assuming you mean inside the stud cavity, no it will not fit perpendicular to the wall (coming through it). It will obviously let you bend it to the left or right inside the wall. If you want to come up and through the wall, you will need a 90 degree elbow fitting on the pex.
You can, but you would need to remove the insulation from the tubing in order for the tubing to fit into the support.
Yes, you can. Any PEX will work with these supports, as long as the sizes match up.
Yes. These bend supports are compatible with any standard PEX tubing.
You would attach the support right to the metal stud.
