I would buy this again
I strictly use Uponor when I'm doing PEX and these worked out great, allowing me to add a compression angle stop.

great pex tubing insert for use with compression stops
I use these stainless pex tubing inserts when installing compression stops in cabinets and toilets. Compression stops are removable and look better than Uponor or other brand pex stops. These inserts keep the tubing from crushing and don't allow the stop valve to leak or worse blow off the tubing under pressure. I can only imagine the insurance liability if these weren't used with a compression stop valve.

Q: Can these inserts be used with other brands of compression stop valves? The LF5425038 stop valve (which supersedes the discontinued LF4420500 stop valve) is on backorder for the next month or so, unfortunately, so I'll need to use an alternative stop valve.

Verified Reply- SupplyHouse StaffHello, thanks for writing in. These inserts are designed specifically for Uponor stop valves, and so we cannot guarantee they will work for other brands unfortunately.

Q: Is this needed when I order compression stop valves, or do they not need this? The compression valve is : LF4410500 And on the other note, why does anyone need LF4410500 if they can buy LF4855038? Are these different systems...because they are both under the Uponor title/manufacture?

Verified Reply- SupplyHouse StaffOnly Uponor's compression stop valves (LF4410500 and LF4420500) require this insert piece. Their compression valves require no special tools or PEX for connection. LF4855038 is a ProPEX style stop valve. ProPEX connections only work with PEX-A grade tubing and a PEX expansion tool (e.g. part 2432-22) to make the connection to 1/2" PEX.

Q: I have 1/2" interior diameter PEX water lines (to several sinks). Went to the hardware store for inserts to use compression shut off vales. What the hardware store gave me was the wrong size (for 1/2" Outside diameter). Are these inserts for 1/2" INSIDE diameter PEX?

Verified Reply- PexSupply StaffThese inserts are for use with 1/2" nominal PEX (which has a .475" inside diameter). There is no PEX that has an inside diameter of exactly 1/2". 5/8" PEX is not normally used with domestic water, but it has a .574" inside diameter.
