Program Problems
Great Thermostat if it works right. The Venstar T5800 Model "Firmware VR 3.08" which we purchased from your company, has a programming problem.
It has taken getting an exchange from your company to find that the second Venstar T5800 that you sent us had the same problem as the first one we purchased from your company. We then contacted Venstar directly several times; in discussion with their tech support, to find out that Venstar had a problem with the programming of the VR 3.08 series(which your company is supplying to your customers). According to tech support of Venstar they have an upgraded version which is VR 3.12.

VERY Intuitive User Interface
Although the manual is a good reference, it's almost not necessary because the interface is very easy to follow. Screen is beautiful and it's loaded with tons of control features.

Great Thermostat
Great product. Keeps my home nice and toasty. Easy to program and use. Cool that it takes a memory card to show your photos. Great deal of technoligy for the price. Programible in all respects of keeping the right temp.

Great stat for the features. I wanted a fan recirc function which is programmable and it also extends the fan run time if you want. Picture downloading is not really a needed feature but i do use it. Seems to read indoor temps steadily. No negatives I can find.

Verified Reply- PexSupply StaffAccording to the manufacturer. the ColorTouch alerts tell you if you have exceeded a high or low temperature limit.

Q: Can this be programmed for a yearly schedule? I live in central Canada, and the weather fluctuates big time. A simple daily heat-cool limit will not be enough. Separate monthly schedules or seasonal schedules would be good. Will this unit do this?

Verified Reply- PexSupply StaffThis thermostat does not have those capabilities. An internet-accessible thermostat, such as a Honeywell Prestige or wireless FocusPRO with the Honeywell internet gateway (part THM6000R1002), may be the best option for you. This would allow you to change the thermostat's settings from a remote location at any time of the year.

You just need a sd card. 2mb is recommended by venstar. Download the colortouch program on your desktop or laptop and you can program your stat upgrade firmware and add pictures to the sd card then plug the sd card into the stat and download through the menu screen. Its simple.
