Very Convenient

Pros: Hand-tightening the compression nuts wasn't enough and using an adjustable wrench was awkward and sometimes scratched the plastic. The manabloc wrench allowed for the perfect torque and quick installation. Cons: This is a very specialized tool. Once the manabloc is installed, it's going to sit on a shelf for a long time until there's a problem with a line or you add another water fixture.

It works but I'd look for an alternative

I think it's a good idea to have a wrench like this. A regular hex wrench probably won't work. I haven't tried it. Those nuts on the Manabloc are some kind of plastik. It's sturdy, but not as bronze. My problem with it is its surface is not smooth. It's rough almost like a wood file. Perhaps it's done so it would grip the plastik better. But it makesi t very hard to slide this wrench on the nut and then slide it off. Also it scratches the nuts in the process. And the groves in the wrench are not a perfect fit for the shape of the nuts, so it's a struggle to slide it on every time. Meybe it works better with other manifolds, but not mine.

Better than using an adjustable

Would recommend if you like to diy and have a manabloc in your home. At first I used an adjustable wrench and I didn't like the way it bumps into the other water lines. Gave me more peace of mind that I'm not creating more problems for myself.

Does the job

Another review calls this convenient and I agree. Easier to use than channel lock or an adjustable wrench. Able to tighten and loosen with adjacent lines already connected. Manabloc install instructions say for the connections are to be hand tightened. So don't overtighten.

Fits Old

Fits the old hex compression nuts great. Works in the tight area of the blocks. Does not work well with the new style blocks.

All the Manabloc parts you need!!!

Most plumbing supply houses when you tell them you're working on poly butylene pipe and a Manabloc system, they tell you to re pipe the house. Why re design the wheel? I called Supply House, they helped me get the right Manabloc manifold, and all on the fittings I needed to do the job once, and do it right. Now I have a happy customer, and a Manabloc system that doesn't leak.

Pex wrench

Works, and works well. 4 stars since it is roughly made. Did exactly what I wanted it to do.

Worth the money!

I had to add a hot and cold line to my MANABLOCK. Without one of these you cannot tighten the compression nut properly. There is just not enough space to get a regular wrench in between the other compression nuts. Worth it!

Q: what size are the wrenches looks like a 12 point box wrench

Please understand, I am no longer allowed to purchase from SupplyHouse. I live in Canada. However, this question is fraught with problems that are not evident. Firstly, this is not a wrench in the classical form of a wrench. For the few dollars it costs, using something else will only cause you tons of grief. The 'wrench' is intended to tighten plastic connectors at the manabloc end of a pex tube. The size of the wrench is not the problem. The problem is the spacing between the connectors on the manabloc. Using any other device could put too much pressure on the plastic and damage it, leaving you with a lifetime of drips. Don't be cheap, buy the wrench. I also recommend that you purchase extra 'keys' for shutting off the water on each branch. Nail one to the wall next to the manabloc and tie a second one to it. Inevitably one will be lost. Good Luck and enjoy. Allthunbs

Q: What's the recommended torque for the lock in nuts?

You tighten the nuts until they are just tight, then tweak it a little bit more. You gauge it by appearance- the white inner sleeve with stick out about 1/16 or 1/8 of an inch. That's how you know it's tight enough and properly seated. Do not over tighten. Sent from my iPhone
