IWTG, 2-1/2" Hose Connection Gauge (0-200 psi)

Connected to my hot water heater to check overall system pressure (suspected expansion tank failed since PRV was letting off small amounts of water occasionally). Upon connecting the gauge and opening the valve, the needle spiked and immediately bent, then returned to the actual 70psi reading of the system. I was still able to use it for the intended purpose (max pressure reading over time), but the unit definitely doesn't feel worth what I paid. It is light and flimsy and the needle bent on first use. With that said, it held the pressure just fine and didn't leak at all. I would just look to a better quality unit next time.

The gauge works fine but it's all plastic-for this price I thought that at least the gauge would be made with a metal housing.

Construction is largely plastic and red max reading needle is flimsy and does not always track with the black reading needle. No water leakage around the hose bib connection and the pressure readings are consistent.

I was installing a new water heater with an expansion tank and I needed to know what the street pressure was to accurately set the expansion tank bladder. All the box stores sold cheap plastic garbage. I checked supplyhouse.com, and saw they had this, and I ordered it. The item was shipped quickly and I received it in good order. The item is of good quality and works great. Do not be fooled by the looseness of the coupling collar. It seals on a hose bib perfectly and you will get accurate readings. I highly recommend this gauge. You will be pleased.
