Needs to be longer

It needs to be about 1" longer. I had to buy female to female hose extensions to bring the arrestors out of the wall box. Also had the modify nonworking arrestor to get new arrestor higher than the other one. see picture.

High quality but too short

As another has already pointed out, the adapter is too short given that the Watts Hammer Arrestor itself is so chunky. I could not attach it directly to the washing machine or to the water supply without the Arrestors bumping into the wall or back of the washing machine. Just need to be 1/2" longer to get the Arrestors away from the female end. I also had to use some additional piping to get the Arrestors to fit. This worries me because it adds another point of potential failure/leakage in the long run.

Finally found a store that could find this item!

Tried 2 different places to get this part, Watts couldn't even help. One place even sent me a "similar item" not even close to what I needed. Supply House found and delivered exactly what I needed in a very timely manner!

A good idea, but difficult to use.

At first glance, this looks like a great problem-solver device for attaching a water hammer arrestor onto the back of a clothes washer solenoid valve, where it really works best. The design is simple, and should be easy to install, but it can be quite difficult to secure properly without leaking. Some of the blame can be laid at the feet of the washing machine manufacturer, who thinks that the connections need to be recessed so it can be pushed-up right against a wall. This is not possible in any case because there needs to be some room for hoses and drains behind it. Worse yet, the distance between the hot and cold connections are barely enough to get a finger in between to grab the hose fitting. The recessed ports make it impossible to get a wrench on the connectors in order to tighten them fully, and I had to take the back off of my machine to do it. Even after all that, I still have leaks, so it's back to the drawing board.

You will need to tighten the assembly or it will leak

You will need to tighten the floating female side into the cast body before installed onto the hose bib. Do this to avoid leaks once installed. Female end of cast part could be longer.

Need to tighten joint

Need to tighten the floating side to avoid leaks. Once tightened awesome product. Agree could be longer. A nice update would be a wall hanger for the complete assembly.

Good quality - too short

There wasn't enough offset from the wall (for the bulbous part of arrestor) - we installed this fitting on the washer and still needed to solder an inch stem to raise the arrestor above the dryer. In hindsight I wouldn't have bought these fittings, instead find one just an inch longer.

Brittle Teflon Tape & Loose Factory Connection / Works Great

I had a small problem with the factory Teflon Tape - had a slight drip on each connection between the washing machine and the factory "T" manifold. The male thread that screws the garden hose swivel connector to the manifold (a factory Teflon Tape connection) started leaking as soon as the water was turned back on. I used a 3/8 inch "Allen Wrench" to remove the connector - noted the factory Teflon Tape was brittle - I replaced it with a high quality Teflon tape and reconnected the manifold & hoses. No Leak =) Also noted the "Watts Water Hammer Arrestor" could not sit vertically side-by-side - had to offset each by 15 degrees.See photos. Easy to Install and Works Great - No More Water Hammer.

Couldn't have installed the arrestors without it

Worked at the wash machine water connections on a Maytag. Installed at the other end of the hoses with an LG wash machine. Would have needed an elbow or extension in order for the arrestors to clear the machine.

ASK A QUESTION

Q: Looking at the product, it appears the ends have hose threads. Is that correct? Are the threads for the water hammer arrestor 3/4" NPT? The description indicates it's for 1/2" water hammer arrestor.

The ends have hose threads, while the branch has 1/2" NPT threads to accommodate the 0121227 arrestor.
