Sized for 3/4" or 1" (20 or 25mm) water supply lines.
Series WDS and LFWDS FloodSafe Water Detector Shutoff protects the homeowner from catastrophic damage due to the water heater leaking. The FloodSafe will detect the presence of water on the floor beneath the water heater and will automatically shutoff the water supply and power source to the water heater. Optional battery backup unit available (WDS-BB).

- Secure interlocking connector cables are unique to each connecting device.

- Provides contacts for monitored alarm detection systems.
- Power Cutout Modules for the standing pilot gas fired water heaters retain thermocouple circuit in the event of momentary power outage.
- Optional WDS-BB battery backup maintains normal operation for up to three days during power outages.

Easy to install, does just what its supposed to
Works just as expected. Very easy to install. I like that it also controls an internal switch pinned out so another system can determine the state of the shutoff valve. My water heater is in a crawl space where I might not hear the alarm so this is a very useful feature. It could be used to control an indicator light which is more visible or some other alarm system or what you please. I only wish my powered anode also used a 12v dc supply like this does so I would only need one power adapter, but oh well.

Easy to Install; Tests Great
My 120 Gal solar/electric back-up hot water system is past the tank warranty period. I decided it was time for some leak insurance. This is the only system that I found that would both shut off the water and the power to the hot water tank. It tests great. Since no hot water tank lasts forever, I feel confident that I will be able to use my current system till the tank starts leaking without catastrophic water damage to my workshop.

Watts FloodSafe Gas And Water Shutoff
I added the WAGS valve when I installed a new power vented gas water heater. I am glad I did because the old steel water heater nipple was almost completely corroded away INSIDE where the copper sweat fitting was threaded onto the nipple. If it had failed, there would have been a flood. BTW, I also got the Watts dielectric unions from Supply House, which previously had never been used when the old tank was installed.
I highly recommend using DIELECTRIC unions.
If you have a power vented water heater, the ELECTRIC version of the watts valve shuts off both the water supply and the electricity to the power vent, which in turns insures that the gas is never lit if the water tank fails.
Finally...be sure that ALL three cables are connected if you pre test the system, including the ELECTRIC CONTACTOR, or else the valve will safety out after a few seconds.

Quality product that works. The mechanism that shuts off the water is a better design than other products that use a low torque motor to close a valve. The electric box that houses the relay could be a little bigger to facilitate the 10ga wires and controller wires. I didn't get the battery backup because it would be one more thing to maintain and my water pump will be off if the electricity is off. You will need a very large flat screw driver to reset the mechanism if it trips. Every water heater should have one of these shutoffs!

A very good investment to save you money
Placed the shut off valve in the water heater pan in the attic. My heater is 27 years old and will fail soon. This gives me piece of mind and will save me the hastle of replacing the ceiling and dealing with the insurance company.
