This 2" anti-siphon pressure vacuum breaker backflow preventer helps prevent the reverse flow of polluted water from entering into the potable water supply due to backsiphonage. It consists of bronze body construction, silicone rubber check valve disc, plastic check valve seat, stainless steel springs, a bonnet with silicone rubber O-ring seal, a lightweight plastic disc float, lever handle shutoffs, and test cocks for winterization draining. It is ideal in health hazard continuous pressure applications such as irrigation systems and industrial process water systems where the water enters the equipment at or below its flood rim. Maximum pressure is 150psi (10.3 bar). Minimum pressure is 15psi (55kPa). The pressure vacuum breaker includes a freeze sensor for use with SentryPlus Alert® technology to signal when ambient temperature approaches the freeze threshold. Activated through an add-on connection kit, the sensor also triggers freeze alerts to facility personnel. Sensor activation requires purchase of an activation kit which can be connected to existing building and irrigation management systems.

Q: A lot of these backflow preventers say to not install in freeze locations or to insulate. Is it okay to install in freeze locations if a sprinkler system is blown dry in the fall and valves are open (and water is off)?

Q: What precisely is the benefit / difference of using this product over SKU 0792040 (1" LF288AM4 Anti-Siphon Vacuum Breaker Lead Free)? Please kindly elaborate precisely why SKU 0792040 supposedly can be pressurized for 12 hours continuously but no longer; the reasoning for this is hard to understand. Can SKU 0792040 also be used for yard irrigation, and if not, why not? Thanks.

Verified Reply- SupplyHouse Staff800M4QT is ideal in health hazard continuous pressure applications such as irrigation systems and industrial process water systems. The LF288AM4 includes the test cocks, while the 0792040 does not. Please check local code for compliance.
