This self-priming portable utility pump is designed to be used as
a transfer pump for such applications as emptying water heaters,
livestock tanks, etc. Pump can also be used for an intermittent
pressure boost for applications such as washing cars, cleaning
driveways, etc. The motor is air cooled; it is
not designed to operate under water.

Pumps away!
We use the pump to spray water from the rain barrels. Works fine, but requires a heavy duty hose from the barrel to pump to avoid imploding the hose. Puts out 30 psi. Centrifugal pump. First pump failed at 4 years due to pump side bearing corrosion. Note to self: don't leave the pump full of water, the water will get past the seal and the bearing gets wet. In time the bearing turns to rust. Also note, the shaft will corrode, making new seal useless if the water can get past it at the shaft. keep the pump drained and once a year, disassemble and use a little grease (or something?). There is a repair kit for the pump side and for the brushes. Brushes should last two or three years.
