1/2" Press L-Union Full Port Ball Valve w/ 90-Degree Union Elbow (Lead Free)

Sometimes these trick Webstone fittings are exactly what you need and can replace 2-3 other fittings for less cost. But sometimes not. With this one, be aware that if you are using to connect a rad, you must connect the rad to the short side of the elbow or the valve will be on the wrong side of the union and be basically worthless. This means the union will point 90 degrees away from the port on the radiator, so if you want a nice neat drop-in installation then you will also have to elbow in the union on the other side the same way. Basically you have to design the whole layout around this fitting; you can't just use it to replace an elbow, union, and valve in what you've already sketched. Also be aware this union uses an EPDM seal, not a ground joint. If you lose that little rubber O-ring...it will no longer hold pressure. Another reason to be careful where you use this in the field, a traditional ground-joint union is a much better call if you foresee this ever being taken apart and put together again.
