2 years in

Nice boiler, was a pretty easy install, been running for 2 years and no trouble so far. What more can I ask for?

unit was already 4 years old when it arrived

It was new in a crumbling dusty carton but already 4 years old. I suspect the warranty is almost gone as well. So much for ordering the latest products with all the improvements.

Q: My primary concern is fitting this item into an existing utility closet. Would this unit be suitable for use as both my heating (baseboard in a 800 sq ft. bungalow) AND my domestic hot water supply. My other option is the Weil McLain CGt series.

You will need an indirect water heater with this unit if you would like to use it to make your domestic hot water supply.

Q: MY HOME IS 1500 SQ. FEET, AND I LIVE IN OCEAN CITY NJ WILL ULTRA 80 BE LARGE ENOUGH FOR MY HOME AND AM I CONSIDERED MODERATE TEMPRETURE AREA OR COLD TO GO BY THE RULE OF THUMB. ALSO IF I ADDED A ADDITION TO MY HOME OF 600 SQ. FEET WOULD THIS BOILER STILL BE ADEQUATE?

A heat loss should really be done on the house for the most accurate measurement. For 1500 square feet the Ultra 80 would be sufficient. If adding an additional 600 square feet, the Ultra 80 will most likely not be sufficient enough to heat the entire area.

Q: What does the phrase "- Outdoor reset and domestic hot water priority standard" actually mean? Is the boiler also used for domestic hot water not just for radiant heat?

Outdoor reset means that there is a sensor outside. The boiler will adjust depending on what the outside temperature is like. The colder it is outside, the more heat is produced, and the warmer it is outside, the less heat is produced. The domestic hot water priority standard means when you are using it for domestic purposes, the hot water will go to that zone first. For example, if you are taking a shower, the hot water will go to that shower first before any other zone. If you would like to use this for domestic hot water, you will need an indirect water heater also.

Yes, this boiler has a priority controller to allow use with an external domestic hot water heat exchanger. This boiler also comes with an outdoor sensor which will shut down the heating zones during warm weather
