Good product

I am using these staples to fasten 7/8" PEX (1" exterior diameter) to 2" XPS (note: this is a larger diameter than this product is supposed to fasten). I am installing the staples by hand, using a standard screw driver. The staples sink into and hold fast to the XPS very well. I use a total of 5 on each 180 degree bend, then space about every 3 feet. I am happy with the product and would use it again. Recommend.

Held the tube down on the areas with saw cuts in concrete

I used the staples to hold the tube tight to the floor foam on the areas of the basement floor where I will have some saw cuts for control joints in the concrete. Didn't want the tubing getting cut but wanted to lift the tube & floor wire in areas of the floor where there are no cuts. Plumber friend says keep the pex in the middle of the slab if possible to get the floor to react faster & allow lower water temps on the loops. I just pushed z staples in with my hand since I didn't have many of them & no stapler. Might be worth finding a stapler if doing more than a box of them, fingers got tired.

Product Q&A

ASK A QUESTION

Q: Do these staples hold the pex tight to the foam board or do they elevate the pex above the foam board so that the pex is more toward the center of the slab? If tight to the foam board, won't the pex then be siting at the bottom of the slab?

They hold the tubing to the foam. The grip is tenuous at best so don't trip on the tubing or you'll be starting over. Don't sweat about the positioning. It really won't affect the heating and it's better for slab strength to have more concrete above. Sent from my iPhone
