The Home Guard Max comes fully assembled for fast, easy and trouble free installations and its small footprint allows for installation in even the smallest sump pits. With superior performance and discharge capacity, it uses less water and costs less to operate. A replacement for a gummed up pump, works great.

I needed a backup pump and didn't want to maintain a battery system. This pump takes over every time it is needed.

Yes, I would buy this product again.

We frequently loose power in our Indianapolis neighborhood with a high water table. This is a great solution to keep our basements dry.

2 bad units in a row

installed them, a few days later, later, customer calls that they are leaking out the diaphragm. have install probably a dozen of these, longevity doesn't seem real good, had to replace 2 that were 6 years old, that would not work. used to like them, but they don't have a good track record. will be trying the liberty unit.

Great product

This is a great alternative to a battery backup system. I maintain several homes and in the case of a home having municipal water, this is the unit prefer. I like that it is made by Zoeller as are the standard sump pumps that I recommend and install.

I bought this again.

I have tried over the years to get one of my customers to have me install a water powered back-up pump instead of the battery type. Finally I had the opportunity to do so. It is not a simpler hook up, but defiantly better in the long run. Two things that will never be a problem are bad batteries and vapor lock. I have purchased a second one to install for my daughter and son-in-law. I do not have city water or I would have installed one for myself ages ago. I gave it a 5 star though I maybe a bit optimistic, since my experience with the battery type has not always been good. I service 7 homes with battery systems and there is a constant need for attention on at least 1 of them. Only time will ultimately tell.

Works Great! Nice to have the worry about power outages gone

I live in a perched water table area, so power failures when Im not home were a problem. Battery operated pumps are a bad joke, both for the amount of water that they can't pump, and the duration of time that they work at all. This product has already saved my basement during a thunder storm and resulting power outage. 3inches of rain twice in two days! I honestly don' know about the longgeity of this product, but like I said it works great!

Glad to have it installed

Seems to be a product that should live up to its purpose. I'm hoping that the the 503 will last much longer than the previous 502 model (installed in 2007) which developed a leak (no replacement parts were available).

This pump actively flooded my basement

This was installed on 1/3/2012. It caused flooding in my basement. The water flowed into the pump, but didn't flow out. Then the water funneled into my drain tiles and flooded every corner of my home. Had I not caught this active, rapid flooding only 30 minutes after it started, my basement would have been filled all the way up to the first floor level. The flooding stopped when I turned off the water main.

Per the Uniform Plumbing Codes and IAPMO PS119, the discharge of the water-powered sump pump should not be connected to the discharge of the primary sump pump.
