Comments about Pro Non-Programmable, 1H/1C, Standard Display Thermostat:

I ordered 3 pcs of this Honeywell Pro thermostat from PexSupply based on recommendation from my Hvac installer.
Shipping was very fast and PexSupply had the most competitive price on the web, beating out amazon.com among others.
Installation was very easy and the thermostat is simple to operate. According to our hvac tech the Honeywell Pro series are one of the best tstats to use with a high efficiency condensing boiler due to quaility of the internal circuitry which reduces voltage fluctions to the boiler control system.
So far I am very satisfied.

I like it, but know what you are buying.

Comments about Pro Non-Programmable, 1H/1C, Standard Display Thermostat:

Replaced a defective four wire Honeywell thermostat that worked intermittently. On occasion, the display would go blank and the heat would go on full-on. It wasn't obvious that the thermostat was defective. I initially thought that there might be a problem with the main controller since the thermostat had no battery and power was supplied from the main controller. I was surprised to find that this Honeywell Pro thermostat had a battery. Didn't know about the four wire (with battery), five wire external power option. Got it working with four wires and battery. I then discovered I had the extra wiring to supply power with the fifth wire. Now works great in five wire configuration w/o battery. Apparently, the thermostat I replace was able to "steal" power from a four wire configuration.

Does the job

Comments about Pro Non-Programmable, 1H/1C, Standard Display Thermostat:

Although considered a professional install model, it was pretty straight forward to install. Things that were different than expected. The backlighting only comes on after you touch one of the buttons, otherwise the display is grey, with black numbers. Also, the temperature reads differently than other thermometers in the house. The FAQ explains that this is because this thermometer takes into account the radiant heat in the wall. It's typically a 3-4 degree difference. Seems to work fine and is very straight forward to use.

    Q:

I was not given an owners manual. How do I get the face off this model to change the battery?
Asked on 5/9/2014 by Karol from SA, TX

      A:

This model is basically a sandwich whereas the back plate is screwed to the
wall (if installed already) and the front half is held by little tabs. Run
your fingers along the crack or the seems and pry off the front half (face
plate). The AA batteries are inside. Do not use any other tool than your
fingers. It may seem like it is going to break... but it won't. Good luck.

      A:

Your old thermostat most likely did not have "c" which provides power to the unit. I specifically wanted that feature because I don't want to have to use batteries.
Match up your existing connections with the ones on the new unit and don't worry about empty connections.
      As for the designations:
      R - heat
      W - heat / cool common
      B - cool
Y - one of these (Y and G) is the fan, I forget offhand what the other is.
C - power common. Return path for the low voltage AC power.
      I'm self-taught, not a professional. If I look at a setup I could figure out the G and Y.

    Q:

I want to add a remote thermostat control from one of these to my bedroom. What product should I use? Is it even possible with this one?
Asked on 6/19/2012 by Justin from Jax, FL

    1 answer

    • CUSTOMER CARE

      A:

TH3110D1008 thermostat is not compatible with any remote control. Honeywell currently offers TH5320R and TH6320R Wireless Comfort System (wireless thermostats) and Prestige series thermostat (these thermostats consist of a handheld remote control). TH5320R is a non programmable thermostat, TH6320R is a programmable thermostat and Prestige series thermostats can be used as programmable as well as non programmable thermostats. These thermostats are compatible with multistage systems as well as single stage systems. These thermostats are professionally installed units. We recommend you speaking to any HVAC licensed contractor for compatibility queries.

I'm trying to set the thermostate for 75 degrees and i sucessfully do this but the temperture on the inside is redaing something else. And I also have the fan set for autoand the fan continues to run and it seems the house is getting hotter and hotter, whats wrong

    • A:

This could be a number of things. 1) The thermostat could be located in a bad place (too far away/in cold corner), 2)The thermostat could be defective, or 3) your furnace may have a stuck valve or switch. You may need to call a professional if it's too involved.

This unit displays both the set-point and actual indoor temperature side-by-side. On the 'auto' fan setting, the fan should run only when the heating or cooling system is operating.

    Q:

can you control or ajust the fan cycle and if you can how do you do that? I dont have a manuel for thermastat?
    Asked on 12/10/2011 by Anonymous

    1 answer

    • A:

You can set the fan to run continuously, by having the fan switch set to on, or set it so that the fan only runs when the heating or cooling system is on, by setting it to auto - both using the fan switch on the bottom left-hand corner.

Remove the thermostat from the face plate (it's held on by plastic tabs) The batteries are visible on the back. Might help to download the instruction manual from Honeywell's website.
