Used at the point of entry, the New 3M AP900 Series High Flow SQC Filtration System reduces sediment, rust, precipitated scale, iron and minerals from water using appliances and plumbing fixtures through-out the home or light commercial industrial applications.
Features:
- Includes mounting bracket for easy installation in most applications
- AP902 reduces sediment for up to 100,000 Gallons while providing unrestricted flow with NPT connections.
- 1" inlet/outlet connections help provide high flow rates up to 20 gpm for larger homes, light commercial/industrial applications
- For use with SQC style proprietary sediment or CTO cartridge
- Sanitary Quick Charge (SQC) style cartridge, an industry exclusive for this applications, allows for fast and easy cartridge change-outs without the need for filter wrenches.
- 100,000 gallon capacity/one year change-out (based on normal water conditions - helps reduce multi-year cartridge change-out required on most industry standard drop-in style cartridges/housings

I would buy this filter again
We installed this filter on coming water line prior to water heater and water softener. I will do a water test again to see how improvement water quality.
The system work perfectly and I already installed a second set of filter in another house.
There is small leak at three cut out ball valves' handles. Tighten down the stems that fixed the leak but one is not. It possibly need to repack it. I will contact technical group for advise.

100,000 gal ????????
This system works very well and the water is clean. I am not sure about the 100,000 gal once year replacement specs for the filter. I have to change the cartridge about every 3 months and it is not close to 100,000 gal. Over the course of the 3 years I have had it I have replaced the cartridge about 10 times.

If you have a lot of sediment
THen this is the filter to get.
I had much success with this one even though I was skeptical at first. (100k gallons?!?!) I was going through dual "whole house" twist off sediment filters every 3 months. I tried a carbon filter that got killed in a week! SO when I bought this I was hoping for maybe 6 months and easier to change out.
Well, this filter really lasted a year with full flow.

Q: does this come with a 1" to 3/4" reducer for the inlet and outlet? Also the link to the replacement cartridges does not work. Do you know how much those are?

Q: how can I tell if this is the right product for me. I live in a community that has a well and they do a good job of filtering the water but it's still hard and I can still see rust in my doggy dish and my fixtures get stained. Any suggestions are appreciated. thank you in advance, Carlos (Rochester, Michigan)

I have this 902 model whole house filter installed. It does a good job of trapping particulate such as sand. It is rated at 5 micron, so it will filter significant rust particles, but likely would not remove small dissolved iron that discolors water redish- brown. If you get the carbon filter version (item 903) it would due a better job for this purpose. I did not install the 903 model because my well pump has marginal flow rate and pressure, and the carbon version will be more restrictive and likely fowl more rapidly.
