For use with SQC style proprietary sediment or CTO cartridge. Used at the point of entry, the New 3M AP900 Series High Flow SQC Filtration System reduces sediment, rust, precipitated scale, iron and minerals from water using appliances and plumbing fixtures through-out the home or light commercial industrial applications.
Features:
- AP903 reduces sediment and chlorine taste and odor for up to 100,000 Gallons while providing unrestricted flow with NPT connections.
- 1" inlet/outlet connections help provide high flow rates up to 20 gpm for larger homes, light commercial/industrial applications
- Sanitary Quick Charge (SQC) style cartridge, an industry exclusive for this applications, allows for fast and easy cartridge change-outs without the need for filter wrenches.
- 100,000 gallon capacity/one year change-out (based on normal water conditions - helps reduce multi-year cartridge change-out required on most industry standard drop-in style cartridges/housings
- 304 stainless steel head helps allow for "sweat-in place" installation

Works great so far
We've used it for about a year on city water in VA, Loudoun County. I have pressure gauges right before and after the filter and they show no significant pressure drop given accuracy of the gauges (~65psi -> ~65psi). I can also see how pressure changes when I adjust the pressure valve on out 1" main inlet. There are no problems with flow either. I like high capacity and flow-through rate of the filter.

longevity in question
the TDS of San Francisco water is only 50ppm with hardly much sediment or hardness in the water. In all very clean already. I purchased this to remove whatever is left with a 5 micron sediment filter before this unit. I put a pressure gauge and water meter after the filters. As of today the water reads 1650 gallons and when I turn on the water, my pressure readings are:
70 psi from the utility
69 psi after my sediment filters
30 psi after the ap903
Clearly the AP903 is exhausted, clogged, or can't handle the flow rate.
I would not recommend this unit to anybody needing a whole house filter. Actually I'm not sure if this unit is exhausted or just simply can't handle the flow rate. According to the spec sheets, this unit should handle 20 gpm. I'm definitely not getting that flow rate.

Great filter
Took a little extra tape to seal the threads of the filter adapter and the first cartridge had a pin hole leak but I can tell a difference in the water immediately and Supply house was prompt in replacing the defective filter! Pleased overall!

Negative reviews make me want to buy.
All of the one star reviews of this unit clogging up, make me question if the other filters on the market, simply don't filter very well?
It must filter quite a bit out of the water column if it's becoming clogged no???

Do not buy this.
Installed 2 of these in series and pressure dropped from 65 psi on day one to 22 psi on day 6. The claim of these filters being able to filter 100000 (200000 in my case)gallons of water is so far from the truth as you can get. They are almost completely clogged up after 15000 gallons.

i bought the filter and nothing but problems with the flow i install it in a beach house with a pre filter and still the same bad results ...i not ever buy this system agin...being a plumber for 15 yrs....
