MagnaClean Professional 2

One of the easiest filters I have ever installed. From opening the box to running the system only took about 15 minutes. And this filter works great - very easy to clean and have system back up and running in no time. Excellent product.

I have a 2-flat in Chicago with hydronic boilers over 40 years old. Started popping loudly last winter due to build-up of crud. Tried to find a company to flush the systems over the summer, but no luck. Too long a wait, and too pricey. Unable to find a cheap, reversible circulator pump to do it myself. As I was preparing to literally remove the boilers and attempt getting crud out with a power-washer, I found the MagnaClean product on Supply House's website. I bought two, drained both systems, installed the MagnaClean filters, and used the MC3+ product to help clean up the gunk. Every 2 or 3 days over a two week period, I cleaned the filters. I removed a LOT of sludge/build-up from both systems. I then did a second drain/flush/fill and added the MC1+ Inhibitor product. Both boilers run silently now. TOTALLY worth the price and DIY effort! Pluses: Incredibly easy to install. Does an excellent job of trapping all the materials that cause popping, and risk damaging circulator pump. Incredibly easy to remove and clean the filter without compromising the sealed system. Incredibly easy to add chemicals when flushing, or to inhibit build-up. As an added bonus, the bleeder valve on the top is an excellent way to vent any air that accumulates in the system; after flushing and refilling system (and bleeding out as much air as possible), it took about 3 days to get out every little bubble of air by opening the bleeder once a day. Minuses: None. I've only had the filters a couple of weeks, so time will tell - but I am convinced I'll be able to get another 20 years out of these boilers. Also - Supply House had all the other parts I wanted (new feeder valve, new relief valve, etc), and shipping was really fast. Unless I'm dealing with an emergency, I will definitely use Supply House for all future heating, water heater, and plumbing supply needs.
