The front mounted control panel is easy to see and it comes with a remote service warning light. The 1830CS can be ducted, ideal for whole house crawl spaces or crawls with multiple sections. Set it Level on the floor or Suspend it using our Hanging Kit, this is an easy, high impact, DIY project.

Better than Honeywell
So far so good! Here in the Deep South of GEORGIA
the humidity is already in the 90% RH in May. I have had two Honeywell DR65 and both broke right at the two year mark. Fortunately, they were under warranty and SupplyHouse assisted me in changing them out. This last time I changed to Aprilair and have already noticed they are quieter and pull the humidity down much faster. Hopefully it will last for a long time and if so, I will give it a 5 star.

Supply House A+ Aprilaire 1830 not so much
My first 1830 dehumidifier arrived damaged due to rough handling by UPS and poor packaging by Aprilaire. The retainer tie strap on compressor had broken and allowed the compressor to damage the cooling fins on the unit. (I had read of this happening to others that had purchased Aprilaire dehumidifiers as well) The unit also made a unusual noise during operation. One call to Supply House and a replacement unit was on its way and arrangements for pick up and return of the damaged unit. Kudos to Supply House for great customer service. As for the second Aprilaire 1830, it arrived in much better condition however I believe the units control board humidification sensor may be out of calibration. Unit display reads much higher than my 4 hygrometers and in turn the unit runs much more than I feel it should. My call to Aprilaire customer support was less than satisfactory and I will be calling back to try and resolve this concern. I feel sure if I requested that Supply House send me another unit that they likely would but I have not pursued that at this point.

It's been discontinued. Won't buy Aprilaire products again
Purchased Aprilaire 1830 dehumidifier 6 yrs ago. Won't remove moisture. Tech stated probably lose of coolant after doing a test. No way to recharge. Would have to buy another one, which I won't. No replaceable parts. These dehumidifiers cost way too much to last for only 6 yrs. Will use the disposable portable ones. Can buy several for the price of just one of these.

Pulled the moisture from out underneath a house in 48 hours 85%RH dropped it down to 55% in 48 on a hot humid late July in NC . . Under the house was raining it had so much moisture.

I would buy this again but was disappointed with ship delays
This is the second I have bought since we have the same unit in our regular home. Much better and more effective than the store bought dehumidifiers.

Good dehumidifier
Haven't had any issues at all with the dehumidifier. Seems to be well built. If I had any concerns at all it would be about how flimsy the packaging was around the unit. For such a heavy and expensive product the foam in the box around it was minimal. Supply house did a great job shipping it out which I believe prevented damage. I chose to pick it up at the distribution center and when they pulled it off the truck it was strapped down to its own pallet. This prevented anyone from just grabbing the box and tossing it around or stacking other items on it.

Works great!
It's only been a few days since upgrading from a smaller GE unit and we could immediately tell the difference. Our old (but only 1 year old) dehumidifier would run constantly in our basement and barely keep the RH to around 50. This easily does it and actually cycles off!

Great Product
My model 1830 was a DIY installation for my finished basement apartment. See photos that show installation in a small HVAC closet on system that has an open return air. On the initial set up I had my HVAC system fan running continuously but later used my HVAC maintenance contractor control guy to wire a remote humidistat so HVAC system fan runs only when Dehumidifier is running or when the system is cooling or heating. With the Aprilaire humidistat set at 45%, I have several small humidistats in all rooms of the apartment and humidity throughout is maintained between 40 and 47%.

I liked it so much, I'm buying one for a friend
I used this in a basement to control a moisture/mold problem. Works Great, much better than the cheap ones I have purchased from the big box stores that fail in a couple of years. I expect this one to last a long time.
