Finally results
After spending 9 days without heat in first part of January and after spending over $750 in HVAC contractor charges, I called Aprilaire and went with their suggestion. Ordered new humidistat on Friday and received it Saturday!! Installed in 15 minutes and VOILA- it works like a charm. If I need any further products of this nature I plan to use SupplyHouse.com.

Works on Manual mode. Not on auto mode though.
It works in the manual mode with the fixed resistor installed but the knob has to be turned almost all the way up to operate.The thermistor used for the auto mode is reading 15K at 35 degrees outside. It should be reading about 30K according to the chart. I might add another resistor in series to to allow it to work in auto mode at the corract outside temperature. I'll see how well it works in manual mode first before I go to that trouble though. It might work OK in the colder climates.

Mixed feelings, customer service excellent.
Bought a replacement humidifier controller. First one didn't work, no output and blew furnace fuse. Called customer service and they were very polite. Sent me a replacement right away with no hassle. It worked perfectly.
