Replacement no contest

Replaced exact unit for ease of fit. Old unit was missing impeller but I have no idea how long it was in place. House built in 1992, possibly original unit. Works great now.

Increase the Longevity

I bought this as an exact replacement for my existing hot water circulating pump. Previous pump lasted 8 eight years and then began to have bearing noise. Installation only took a 20 minutes. I'm using an appliance timer to only run the pump during hours when hot water is needed. I recommend this to increase the longevity of the pump. I did use a timer on the previous pump for several years and then removed it for use on something else and never reintalled. This was a mistake.

ASK A QUESTION

Q: I currently have a B&G circulator pump, NBF 12F/LW 103260 H20 (P82909), that is getting extremely hot when plugged in. It is taking several minutes for hot water to reach the showers and sinks. I had a plumber tell me it needed to be placed. First question: Does that sound accurate. Second: What circulator would I replace it with and what additional hardware would I need? Thank you in advance. The water tank is a 50 gallon.

Based on the information provided, we would advise following the recommendation of your plumber to replace the unit. The listed replacement is the lead free version of the pump, sku 103260LF. If the flanges from the original pump are still usable then just exchanging the defective pump with the replacement and no additional hardware should be necessary.
