I am not familiar with that tool, but it appears to be similar to the Watts Model WPCCT-6 Ratchet CinchClamp Tool, which I use all the time and is THE top of the line... I will say that I have used many of these clamps, and never had a failure... They work first time every time, make sure your tool is adjusted correctly.
1/2" clamps are designed to work on 1/2" nominal PEX tubing (which has a .475" inside diameter and a .625" outside diameter).
1/2" clamp for 1/2" pipe, perfect fit...
I use ½ in. stainless clamps with both aquapex and the O2 barrier ½ in. pex throughout out house and they worked very well
Sorry for the delay. The internal measures almost 11/16”. Jim
measures 3/4
1/2 steel clamp for pex pipe, the inside diameter is larger than 5/8 http://www.jesplumbing.net
I'd say 5/8 since pipe ID is 1/2 in. JOHN LADD
5/8" I believe Sent from Yahoo Mail on Android
The pipe is 1/2" ID so I would imagine the clamp, when clamped, is between 5/8" and 3/4" ID.
Crimp rings and clamps for PEX are normally sold by the nominal tubing size. so a 1/2" clamp is made and sold for 1/2" nominal CTS (copper tube size) or 5/8 od tubing and is slightly more than 5/8 id before crimping
Assuming that we are talking about a clamp for tubing like PEX or hose then the clamp is measured the same way the tubing is. PEX is ½ inch inside diameter and 5/8 inch on the outside. The clamp is designed to slip over and then compress the outside diameter. I have used these on vinyl hose with a 5/8 O.D with success although that is not what these are designed for.
They will not. Only PEX Press fittings are compatible with FostaPEX tubing.
No , you must use the Viega pro press fittings with the fosta-pex pipe.
Yes, they will.
They do.
yup.... thats what I use.
Dear potential buyer, I do not have the watts clamp, however I use the Lowe's Kobalt ratcheting crimp tool and it seems to work well with theses. I think they are fairly standard.
