Flexible Install Options, Easy Install

I bought this for a 2,400 square foot two story house with central heat and a split unit heat pump system. The attraction to the unit was the self-balancing making install easier and not requiring any special tools, and the multiple install options. Supply House did not have this unit in stock, but did supply it prior to the time promised. I opted for a professional install because I needed to tap into ductwork for the supply into the house and create new ductwork for the exhaust on the T-5 install option in the manual. But for the ductwork this would be a relatively easy self-install. The unit is quiet, but you can hear the air flow through the registers. For my system I currently have it set up at 75 cfm primarily through two 4x10 registers. The overall noise of the airflow is the same or less than when I have the furnace fan running without the furnace running. The unit will work without one of the optional controllers, but only allowing off/low/high settings. You can set the cfm speeds for low and high. I've decided I want the optional automatic controller, and that is only a $105 option. As for results, I have an air quality sensor, and the base level results (good conditions) have much better readings at 75 cfm than before when I used a bathroom fan on a timer and window open for air flow. The low readings are about 1/3rd of what they were before. It's too early in the process to give a report on peak levels, except that I did try cooking breakfast using two burners on a gas stove, no exhaust fan, without an increase in levels in the room where this device supplies air. More testing is necessary. My main complaint would be the operation manual is a bit weak on the operation part. It is very good for the install part of the process. The same is true for the automatic controller manual. Also, the built in filters do not appear to be the most robust options, but I designed my system to have filter box on the outside intake and the exhaust out.
