This R410A unit is no longer manufactured as per the AIM Act of 2020. While replacement parts are available for repairs, a new unit will require replacing the entire system to support the new A2L R32 refrigerant.

Q: Are these units compatible with any external automated IR (infrared) controllers we may have instead of using the supplied remotes?

Hello, thanks for writing in. According to Comfort-Aire tech support, they have not tested any 3rd party controls with the unit. You can either use a dongle and wifi control the unit or use the standard remote control provided with the head. The 3rd party control might work, but they are unable to confirm for sure.
