- Used to restore damper automation in forced-air zoning applications.
Installation & Operation Notes:
- Disconnect power to the zone panel.
- Attach the motor to the damper shaft per EWC instructions and connect control wiring to the zone panel terminals.
- Verify full damper travel with a call for heating and cooling.
Maintenance & Troubleshooting:
- Replace if damper stalls, chatters, or fails to open or close.
- Check linkage alignment and control signal voltage if damper travel is inconsistent.

Easy install. Works.
Our old unit was whining like a go cart when it closed. Our HVAC tech confirmed we should replace it. He told us it was easy to do and cheaper if we did it our selves. The part was easy to find and easy to install. Note - once installed you may notice that the unit periodically blinks with a bit of a servo purr but does not move. I called EWC and spoke with tech support and they confirmed that was normal. Note - Our old unit was MA-ND4 and the new one is MA-ND5. Same thing. Good Price. Will use supply house again.

This product is simple to install and works great.
This replacement part worked great. Easy to install. I did it myself and I am not mechanical. I installed 2 of them in place of prior ones that were frozen and would not longer turn. My wife is not happy! The air flow is good and warm in the house again.

Q: Our damper won't close, will replacing it with this motor fix that problem for us? Is this the right part? the only part we'll need to be able to have the damper open and close?

It did for me! My original circuit board / motor assembly was a model MA-ND3. I was told by the manufacturer EWC in Englishtown, NJ that the Model MRK was the universal replacement Motor / Board for EWC Controls UltraZone Damper motors. And it was. I replaced two of them already: The first in 2007, was a direct fit. The second damper was smaller than the length of the replacement Motor / Board - so I had to customize it a bit. The MRK comes with an extra mounting plate and screws - so with a pair of pliers it really was not difficult. I really love the quality of the EWC products; and PEX Supply. Good Luck.
