Easy to install and it works.
I tried another smart thermostat that costs a bit less, but spent a whole day troubleshooting and talking with tech support. While they were patient and helpful, I couldn't get it to connect. However, the installation of the ecobee was simple and it worked! Plus it connected to their amazon smart speaker (alexa) with ease. The customer is enjoying their smart thermostat and I'm happy to have been able to install it so quickly. This will be my go to brand going forward.

i would not buy this again
local faceplate shuts off and what ever mode it was in at that time will not shut off.called the a tech support when our furnace wouldnt shut off and the face plate was blank but we can control in on your phone, he said the fire was to hot

Eco solution for you
My experience with the Ecobee 3 Lite Smart Thermostats is good, however, better documentation or youtube training videos would be very helpful. The functionality of the software is broad and feature rich. The design is a simplistic sophistication of recent technology for residential protection.

We do buy this product over and over
We install this thermostat on every geothermal heat pump we install. It works great, and is easy to set up. But we have a different opinion about using temperature set-backs. Temperature set backs do not work with geothermal heat pumps, so we always recommend against using them.

Perfect for multizone system
Ecobee thermostats work great for multizone use. I can see all three thermostats from my ecobee app. 1st floor thermostat is also controlling the humidifier and the air exchanger.

Worked great
Used the Ecobee3 thermostat along with a Honeywell Aube RC840T-240
relay/transformer to replace a rotary dial bimetallic thermostat for 240V space heater. The installation was easy and the relay/transformer worked seamlessly with the Ecobee3 thermostat.
