3/8" Electro-Galvanized Side Beam Connectors
Used these with threaded rod, spit rings, and insulators to hang copper plumbing. I do not know why hardware stores do no sell these things, they are awesome, and they do not compromise the integrity of the joists when you screw into the side middle as opposed to the bottom. #12 flat head screws were indeed the best fit for the holes. SupplyHouse should offer them in Stainless Steel too. Same goes for split rings and threaded rod.
