Very well designed and made wye adapter
Combine two 4" ducts into one. This design is very smooth in its internal contours - I imagine it will shed few if any negative vortices.
The versions at the local hardware store looked like a teenager assembled them and had lots of rough edges and transitions inside.

Q: Can I use this to join the vent from a clothes dryer and the vent from a portable air conditioner, both 4 inch diameter, if I never use the appliances simultaneously?

No, If the dryer is turned off and the portable AC is running you will just be pushing air backwards thru the dryer exhaust. Same as running the dryer it’s exhaust air will blow backwards thru the portable AC.

You should never hook up clothes dyer if gas to anything else you could get CO poisoning. I would not, the one running could back flow to other device.

Q: What is the maximum gauge of the material for the fitting? Can the angle be changed to 55 degrees as opposed to 45 degrees?
