PBV6 7" Expansion Ceiling Grille & Housing, Uses 6" Duct (Vent Only)

I needed to up the volume of exhaust from a 4" t0 6" fan and this combo has done it perfectly.

Have purchased many of these intake boxes with grill unfortunately almost everyone has had spot weld let go. For the price I would think that should not be happening one I can understand not 6 Easily fixed with alum tape but should not need to do that. Other then that works great with inline fan.

Purchased many for jobs I have done , good design, a little pricey but gets the job done only problem flange on exhaust side of box always has spot welds let loose which I fix by zip screws to hold in place, for that kind of money that should not happen. Out of the last 10 I purchased 7 had that problem.

I am using this in my basement to remove cigar smoke. The built in damper has a gap around the entire perimeter of just under 1/8". I removed the damper used far superior damper inline with the duct. There are numerous other holes that I sealed with silicone before actually installing and using. Fantech has videos showing the air-tight seal on their fans. Too bad they didn't invest that much engineering and design on this box. For almost $50 bucks I would not recommend this product.

The units seem sturdy and well made. My only complaint was that the screw holes in the side did not allow for the unit to be installed in existing ceiling. New construction would be fine but it is designed to drop into a cut circle in the ceiling but the screw holes are designed to go left to right. Even with access above I was not able to use the provided rails so I ended up not securing it.

I recommend the quality of products purchased and excellent prices that come from this company. They bit their own schedule of delivery and package protection of the items
