Upon a call for heat, the appliance's burner control circuit sends out a call for heat to the automatic damper, which must open before allowing the burner to fire. This call for heat is intercepted by the ADA-1, and sent to the combustion air/venting equipment first. The combustion air/venting equipment will then activate, and upon closing of the safety switch (or switches) built into the combustion air/venting equipment, the call for heat is then sent on to the automatic damper.
